Over the past year we’ve been keen to do our bit to help our planet and the people in it – in our own little way. In 2015 we began supporting Fairly Traded Chocolate, which gives back to the local growers and their communities. This year, we also added more natural products to our confectionery line, adding to those that are already vegan, halal, kosher and additive/colour free.
Our latest focus has been on packaging. It’s fair to say we’ve always been pretty obsessed with packaging – it’s our job to be. A big part of what we do for our clients is present our gourmet sweets in packaging that will capture attention and put our clients’ brands in the spotlight. As a result, we’ve been continuously developing new packaging options for many years. From tins and boxes to bags and wraps, we’ve got it covered – literally!
Offering a multitude of packaging options isn’t enough, however. We want to build on that and have now started looking at how we can make that packaging sustainable.
What do we mean by sustainable packaging?
Sustainable packaging doesn’t just relate to the materials used; it applies to the entire life cycle of that packaging, from the sourcing of raw materials to the disposal of those materials. Sustainable packaging needs to have as little impact on the environment as possible, at every point in the supply chain. With over 10 million tonnes of packaging waste being produced in the UK in a year (packaging accounts for a quarter of all domestic waste), we can all do something to ensure more of that waste is recovered, recycled and reused.
Our sustainable packaging
If you’re interested in using sustainable products in your merchandising – or you want to communicate your environmental brand values to your customers, our range of tins are ethically sourced, safe, clean and non-toxic. And, because of the range of sizes and designs we have, these decorative tins have much greater re-use potential than other packaging. We’ve seen and heard of our tins being used by customers as storage containers long after their initial purpose. Metal packaging is also the most recycled packaging. In fact, metal recycling rates are expected to reach the 80% recycling target for Europe by 2020.
Tin makes ecological sense.
As with all of our packaging, we can print onto the tins with your brand or campaign designs, in full colour. From beanies and jelly beans to mints, biscuits and chocolates, our tins make the perfect promotional gift and come in many sizes and shapes including money boxes, fliptop tins, ring pull tins, bus tins, pocket tins and share tins. Please visit our website (and enter the word ‘tin’ into our search function) to see the full range.
